STAIRCASE RULES AND REGULATIONS

There are a whole raft of norms and regulations governing staircases in both public and private buildings. These cover every aspect of staircase design and set out the procedures to be followed throughout every part of the installation and commissioning phases. A core concern is ensuring accessibility for persons with reduced mobility or with disabilities, irrespective of the stair’s intended use; PRM stairs, stairs for a building open to the public or emergency stairs.
